come to al's for a great lunch on Salt Spring!
Hello and welcome to Al's! We are a small Salt Spring Island owned and operated food cart serving up the freshest tastiest lunches for our customers- locals and visitors alike. We serve the best falafel you've ever had, the freshest hummus, chicken kebabs, fresh cut potato fries, fresh yam fries, real Quebecois Poutine, deep fried cauliflower and much more; a mix of Middle East meets Montreal!
Most of our menu is plant-based vegetarian, vegan and gluten free and we take great care to make sure your meal is made just the way you like it. We are proud to serve a healthy, nutritious plant based menu that still tastes great. When we aren't prepping and serving customers you can find us in our garden growing herbs and veggies for your meal - this year we have had a superb crop of garlic, tomatoes, cucumbers, mint, parsley, kale and sage.
We are a family friendly restaurant: our menu is kid-friendly and there's something for the whole family to enjoy.
We have picnic tables and a lovely deck for you to enjoy your food slowly, or take it to go. You can order ahead using our online ordering system (see link above). However you chose to order, your food will be ready in minutes.
Al's Gourmet Falafel and Fries is dog-friendly so bring your furry friends. Our Rainbow Road location is also wheelchair accessible.
Al's is 99% garbage free and uses no single-use plastic. How do we do it? We use only biodegradable packaging that we compost and turn into rich soil. We have wooden forks and don't serve straws. The rest we recycle.
Thanks for visiting Salt Spring Island. Hope you have a great experience on Canada's West Coast. And we of course hope to serve you lunch at Al's Gourmet Falafel and Fries.
And... if you've never tried Al's Real Poutine, well... what are you waiting for?
